Pause March 2, 2010
Posted by LK in : compression, personal , 2commentsSo yall aren’t left wondering, this week posting may be sporadic because I am preparing for a short trip overseas, while still working full-time (thankfully) and working on interesting projects with my free time. LycraKeen is probably the most fun thing I spend my time on, and from the comments I know there are some fans out there.
There are a few other announcements:
I’d like to get rid of some of my stuff. I have too much spandex! While, in a sense, we can never have enough, I estimate that if I wore spandex every day, it would take around two weeks for me to go through what I have. (Plus, I’m upgrading to some high-end bike gear, so I should part with the stuff I have that is not really being used.) In the near future I’ll be figuring out how to make my stuff available to you guys.
I have some cool new ideas for this website, like I have had before. Finding time and making them happen, of course, is another challenge.

Spandex Designer February 28, 2010
Posted by LK in : Uncategorized , 1 comment so farRecently I had the pleasure of meeting the designer and product manager for a leading sports apparel brand. Here’s a lucky guy whose job — actually, career — it is to make men wear spandex, specifically his brand of spandex. I think it is wonderful that he spends his efforts designing for better materials, better fit, better performance, better comfort. And it just so happens that in this category of spandex, a LOT of attention is given to the crotch area. We sort of joked that he conducts a lot of research, and has quite a bit of expertise.

He got into an accident with a time machine and emerged with that mustache (1970s) and that tri-top (1990s).

Athlete: Shani Davis February 18, 2010
Posted by LK in : athlete, skating, skinsuit , 2commentsI know Chad Hedrick is a hottie, but I like Shani Davis better. Eric Heiden, former speedskater who was the team physician, can is on Wikipedia with what looks like a huge boner.
My first spandex-aware Olympics was 1992 in Albertville, France. Being all of eleven years old then, I wasn’t squeezing myself yet, but I already knew I enjoyed watching the Olympics for the men in those tight little suits, whether it was luge, skiing, or speedskating. I have straight buddies tell me they also appreciate the male physique in skinsuits, but most of the readers of this blog probably enjoy it on another level.
